Traditional and socio-hydrological approaches to ecosystem services (ESS) assessments using SWAT
The Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) is one of the most widely applied hystological models in the world. This project seeks to develop a set of standardized guidelines for using SWAT in ecosystem services assessments. The guidelines are intended to be a living document within the CG System that will undergo updates and expansion as researchers gain additional insights and knowledge. Next, there is a noted lack of research that addresses gender differentiated ecosystem services and trade-offs among services used by males and females specifically. Part of this project will involve developing integrated socio-hydrological methods for carrying out such assessments using SWAT.
