Overview:

Future Leaders – African Independent Research (FLAIR) Fellowships 2020 is a fellowship given for African researchers who are willing to conduct research in Africa. The Royal Society in the UK in collaboration with African Academy of Sciences give these grants every year. The proposed research has main objective of conducting detection and attribution analysis on the hydrological changes of Lake Ziway catchment with specific attention to human intervention through water abstraction. It will include • Hydro-meteorological data collection, analysis • Field data collection on water abstraction using water demand survey • Bathymetry mapping and remote sensing data processing for lake level change detection • Scenario analysis on the future water scarcity due to demand and climate change
